Ramesh Bimagani, PT/Clinic Director

Ramesh Bimagani, Clinic Director, was drawn to a career in physiotherapy because he wanted to help people, and in particular, to assist patients recovering from sports injuries so they could return to their sport of choice with an expanded participation.

He achieved his Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy and has been practicing physiotherapy since 2000.

During that time he has worked extensively in the areas of musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, and cardio pulmonary rehabilitation, ICU an sports injuries at various health care facilities in India and Canada.

His quest for knowledge and adventure combined to encourage him to move from Bangalore to Calgary in 2005, where he has been practicing his profession successfully since that time. He has also acquired certification in spinal manipulation.

His other advance skills include use of manual therapy, myofascial release techniques, personalized exercise prescriptions, vestibular therapy, and use of acupuncture.

He is affiliated with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada, the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the Alberta College of Physiotherapists.

Ramesh also provides foot assessments and custom-foot orthotics.

He is a family man, and his wife, Arthi Bimagani is a dentist. They have two lovely children, Tanusri and Pranav.

When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family. He also has a keen interest in sports including tennis, cricket, running, hiking and skiing.

He is committed to the community he serves and is a firm believer in giving back as a volunteer and champion of projects. Because of that he has achieved a reputation of distinction in his community. He contributes greatly to a number of not for profit organizations to spread awareness about the practice of healthy living.

Vikas Garg, PT

With a Bachelor of Physical Therapy from India and a certification in dry needling, Vikas Garg joined Genesis Physiotherapy in December 2014.

Vikas’s foremost interest is in health care and being part of that system where there is opportunity to help people for their well-being and active lifestyle. He likes challenges and finds physiotherapy a challenging job with the number of skills required and an energetic job environment that is never boring.

He says it is a profession where a person can really make a difference in people’s lives and that is rewarding and fulfilling. It is also a growing professions where demand and opportunities exist for the future.

When not working, Vikas likes to stay active. In the summer, there is travelling, hiking, camping and other fun activities. On weekends, there is outdoor sports like cricket and badminton. Other passions including cooking and music and being involved in community work, where it is religious on some other kind of social work.

Nipun Mehta, PT

Nipun Mehta has been practicing as a physiotherapist for more than nine years and since then has gained significant experience treating patients with cardio-pulmonary and neurological conditions, mental and geriatric health, postural issues and a wide range of orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries including sport-related injuries, work-related injuries and motor vehicle accident injuries.

After completing his education in India in 2008, he started his career working with patients undergoing human embryonic stem cell treatment (HESC).

He moved to Canada in 2009 to fulfill his desire to learn and explore the world. His treatment approach involves patient education, hands on manual therapy and a strong emphasis on exercise programs.

Nipun believes in expanding his knowledge through continuous education courses and self-learning tools to keep him updated about the new techniques and advancements in the field of physical rehabilitation to deliver the best possible treatment to his clients.

Now he is licensed to practice acupuncture and soft tissue manipulation like Gaston Technique. He also provides custom foot orthotics.

His desire to help others is reflected in his zest for his profession and dedication to provide the best quality of care to the patients.

In his free time he enjoys a wide range of outdoor activities ranging from tennis and cricket to zip-lining, water sports and winter sports.

He is very passionate about his work and looks forward to helping his patients to get back to their normal selves every single day. His dream is to work with Doctors without Borders to give care to the people who need it most.

Jawad Hashim, PT

Jawad Hashim received his Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and was a Doctor of Physiotherapy in Pakistan and is currently completing his Master’s in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary.

He also has a professional diploma in Hospital and Healthcare Management.

He worked as a physiotherapist and lecturer in Pakistan for four years and did one year as a Physiotherapist Assistant in Canada.

He joined the team at Genesis Physiotherapy in 2014 as a Physiotherapist Assistant and is now a practicing physiotherapist.

He was drawn to the field because of its holistic approach to address the needs of patients. He believes in the overall well-being and recovery of patients and enjoys having a chance to contribute to making people functional in their lives.

When he is not working he enjoys travelling, research and sports.

Hoda Abd Elkawy, PT

Hoba Abd Elkawy has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree (1999) completed Neurological treatment fundamental course, Hoda is currently working on orthopedic division certificate. Successfully completed Dry Needling Certificate. She received professional experience working in acute care facilities and private clinics in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Canada and joined Genesis Physiotherapy in January, 2015.

Now a registered physiotherapist with the Province of Alberta, Hoda is experienced in treating numerous post-surgical patients in particular post-orthopedic surgeries, with her past experience in hospital settings ,she gained valuable experience with post-operative protocols and rehabilitation.

She is specializing in treating Workers’ Compensation Board cases and post motor vehicle accidents on a daily basis. Hoda uses manual therapy, myofascial release techniques and specialized exercise programs to help patients return safely to pre-injury level activities.

She became a physiotherapist because of a love of biology and human science and an urge to work in the medical field. Add to that a love to help people in need and a commitment to help people at their top physical capacity.

When not working, Hoda enjoys hiking in the Mountains and running, biking as well as taking the many great trails of Calgary.

Sweety (Pali) Arora , PT

Sweety (Pali) Arore joined Genesis Physiotherapy in 2014 after working a variety of settings, helping clients of all different ages. This physiotherapist loves to use hands-on manual therapy on clients in combination with education, modalities and individualized exercise programs.

Sweety graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in Punjab, India in 2009 and began to work in a private setting and the Central Reserve Police Force, India.

Today she remains passionate about health and wellness and loves to serve the community to help residents stay active and healthy and get rid of their pain.

When she is not working, time is spent exercising, swimming and reading to gather further knowledge.


Physiotherapy Assistants


Monika Dhiman, PTA

Monika Dhiman received her Bachelor of Physical Therapy degree in India and her Master’s of Physical Therapy, majoring in community based rehabilitation in India as well.

She is currently preparing for her PCE.

She brings with her a wealth of experience working with the Institute of Brain and Spina, a neuro-specialty hospital in India, as well as work with the Handicapped Children Rehabilitation Association in India.

Monika joined Genesis Physiotherapy March 15, 2016.

She was drawn to the career of being a physiotherapist because she saw that they have a chance to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives on a regular basis. She enjoys working one-on-one with her patients, helping them progress through treatment and return to the activities they love to do in life.

Through her career she is able to exemplify the goals of her own life which focuses on being a person of progress, health and action.

When she is not working, she enjoys reading, exploring new things and cooking. 

Sapna Jadhav, PTA

Sapna has been working as a physiotherapy assistant with Genesis Physiotherapy since May, 2016. She pursued her Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy in 2010.

Following her studies, she gained experience working in diverse environments such as a multispecialty hospital, a pediatrics hospital, NICU, a rehabilitation centre and a fitness centre.

Currently she is seeking registration as a physical therapist to practice in Alberta.

She believes that her job is very rewarding because it gives her a chance to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, regardless of what stage they are in. She want to add life to people’s years, not just years to their lives.

When she is not working, Sapna enjoys reading motivational and inspirational books so that she can strive to be a good human being. She also enjoys cooking and spending time with her angelic daughter and family.

Ketaki Patil, PTA

Ketaki completed her Bachelors of Physiotherapy in the year 2010 in India. After graduation, she started working for an Orthopedic Hospital and later worked for a Sports and Physiotherapy Clinic in Mumbai, India for almost 3 years where she worked on preoperative patients to prepare them for surgery and on post-operative patients to get back to normalcy. She also worked on athletes with sports injuries to manage their injuries and help them get back to their sports.

Ketaki is working as Physiotherapy Assistant at Genesis Physiotherapy since September 2016. She is preparing for her PCE.

Ketaki has interest in orthopedic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. She is also keen in prevention and management of lifestyle related diseases. She likes to work hard to motivate patients to lead a healthy lifestyle. To see patients, get better and be independent gives her an immense sense of satisfaction.

Ketaki also practices meditation and believes that in this era of stressful and hectic life, it is equally important to cleanse our minds along with our bodies. In her spare time Ketaki bakes, paints and makes candles. She is a trained classical dancer. She also likes to be active outdoors hiking and camping (when the weather allows it!)


Massage Therapists


Kurt Isfeld, RMT

Kurt Isfeld has been a registered massage therapist for the past five years and says he loves every minute spent on his career.

He has completed all the requirements of training and is a graduate of the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy.

He likes to incorporate relaxation massage in with myofascial release, deep tissue work, and trigger point therapy. His specialties include deep tissue, trigger point release, sports massage, motor-accident injuries, relaxation and pre and post-natal massage.

Combining these different techniques makes for a relaxing and yet effective massage when it comes to relieving tight muscles from every day use or healing injuries caused by overuse.

Kurt says he decided to become a massage therapist because he loves helping people and wants to help them move toward a pain-free lifestyle.

At the end of the day he finds fulfillment knowing he has made a difference in helping his clients feel better.

Kurt is also a family loving person and he loves to make people laugh. He enjoys spending quality time with his family and his favorite niece.

Simer Dhaliwal, RMT

Simer Dhaliwal grew up in Calgary, Alberta. After graduating high school she attended SAIT polytechnic where she received her diploma in Business Administration with a major in Marketing. She later received a certificate from Mount Royal University for completing her event management certification.

With the mentioned experience, she decided to pursue a career in massage therapy. She then went on to graduate from CDI College with her Massage Therapy Diploma.

With massage therapy Simer hopes to help you both therapeutically and physically regain activities of daily living, so you can be a happier and healthier YOU!

Nimrat Pal Kaur, Senior Administration Staff

Nimrat Pal Kaur has a Bachelor of Computer Applications degree from PTU, Punjab, India and joined Genesis Physiotherapy in December 2012.

She has been an asset to the team with her vast knowledge and dedication to the firm. Team members always admire her energetic, fun and easy-going personality and her smiles and attitude of always being there to help.

When she is not managing the front desk of the clinic, she loves spending time with her family, travelling and exploring new places with her adorable son, camping, making tasty food and watching movies.
